What this trial studies
This study focuses on women diagnosed with breast cancer who experience persistent genitourinary symptoms related to menopause. It evaluates the effectiveness of photobiomodulation as a second-line treatment for these symptoms, which include vaginal dryness and dyspareunia. Participants will complete questionnaires before and after the treatment to assess changes in their sexual quality of life. The study aims to address the underdeveloped care for sexual health issues in breast cancer survivors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of breast cancer experiencing persistent menopause-related genitourinary symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients who have already received second-line treatments for menopause genitourinary symptoms or those with cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could significantly enhance the sexual quality of life for women suffering from genitourinary symptoms post-breast cancer treatment.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using photobiomodulation for this specific issue is novel, similar studies addressing sexual health in breast cancer survivors have shown promising results.
