What this trial studies
This project aims to enhance the effectiveness of Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training for alcohol servers through an innovative in-service professional development component. The WayToServe® online training has previously shown promise in reducing driving while intoxicated (DWI) incidents. The new component will be delivered via a Facebook page, fostering a supportive community among trained servers to help them implement RBS skills effectively. The study will assess the impact of this enhanced training on alcohol service practices and community safety.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals aged 19 and older who own or manage a licensed alcohol-serving establishment or work as servers and have completed the WayToServe training.
Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 19 years old or do not have a role in alcohol service will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly reduce incidents of driving while intoxicated by improving the skills and effectiveness of alcohol servers.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown success with similar RBS training approaches, indicating a promising foundation for this new intervention.
