What this trial studies
This study explores the effectiveness of a dual psychological intervention strategy aimed at enhancing the quality of life for patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Utilizing the double ABC-X model, the intervention targets both MHD patients and their caregivers to provide comprehensive psychological support. The goal is to develop a scientifically-backed intervention that can be implemented by nurses in clinical settings, ultimately improving patient outcomes and caregiver involvement. Participants must meet specific inclusion criteria related to their health status and willingness to engage in the study.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 years old who have been on maintenance hemodialysis for more than three months and are willing to participate.
Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairments or diagnosed mental illnesses may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the quality of life for patients on maintenance hemodialysis and their caregivers.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach may be novel, similar psychological interventions have shown promise in improving patient outcomes in other chronic conditions.
