What this trial studies
This trial evaluates a complex intervention designed to enhance the evidence-based use of prostate specific antigen (PSA) tests among general practitioners in Denmark. The intervention includes a cluster package that consists of meeting materials and resources aimed at promoting best practices in PSA testing. By engaging quality clusters of general practitioners, the study seeks to address the challenges of overdiagnosis and overtreatment associated with prostate cancer screening. The effectiveness of this approach will be assessed through a cluster randomized design.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are quality clusters of general practitioners willing to participate in discussions about PSA testing in 2025.
Not a fit: Patients who are not part of quality clusters or those who do not have access to general practitioners in Denmark may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could lead to more appropriate use of PSA testing, reducing unnecessary treatments and improving patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in implementing evidence-based practices in general practice, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
