What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to assess the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a telerehabilitation physical activity behavioral (TPAB) intervention designed to enhance daily physical activity in individuals diagnosed with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The intervention consists of 12 telerehabilitation sessions over 12 weeks, targeting both the patients and their primary caregivers. By utilizing mobile-health technology, the study seeks to foster sustainable behavior change in physical activity, which is crucial for reducing the risk of progression to Alzheimer's Disease. The study will evaluate the impact of this intervention on improving physical activity levels and overall quality of life for participants.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 50-85 years who have been clinically diagnosed with amnestic mild cognitive impairment and are not currently categorized as 'Active' in terms of physical activity.
Not a fit: Patients with significant disabilities, unstable heart conditions, or other neurological diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance physical activity levels in patients with mild cognitive impairment, potentially delaying the progression to Alzheimer's Disease.
How similar studies have performed: Similar interventions have shown effectiveness in improving physical activity among older adults without cognitive impairment, suggesting potential for success in this targeted population.
