What this trial studies
This interventional study focuses on enhancing medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia by utilizing cue-based interventions to improve prospective memory. The study will involve two groups: one receiving standard treatment and the other receiving additional cue-based support. Participants will be assessed for improvements in their memory and adherence to medication regimens over the course of the study. The research aims to establish correlations between memory, medication adherence, and functional skills.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-60 diagnosed with schizophrenia who have a good level of insight and education.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic medical illnesses, substance dependence, or neurodevelopmental disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve medication adherence and overall functioning in patients with schizophrenia.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically in India, similar cue-based interventions have shown promise in improving medication adherence in other populations.
