What this trial studies
This study focuses on developing and testing the effectiveness of online interactive videos designed to improve symptoms associated with Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) in patients with rectal cancer. The intervention includes core and pelvic muscle exercises that participants will engage with through these videos. The study aims to assess how these resources can enhance patient outcomes and quality of life post-surgery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 20 years and older with stage I-III rectal cancer who can communicate in Mandarin or Taiwanese.
Not a fit: Patients with recurrent or stage IV rectal cancer may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the management of LARS symptoms for rectal cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be limited studies specifically on interactive videos for LARS, similar approaches using digital resources for patient education and rehabilitation have shown promise in other areas.
