What this trial studies

This research aims to identify effective communication strategies to enhance the uptake of the HPV vaccine among adults aged 18-45. Utilizing an experimental design, the study will survey a national sample of over 3,689 adults to determine the most effective messages that can influence vaccine intentions. The multidisciplinary team involved brings expertise in communication, medicine, nursing, and behavior-change interventions, addressing a significant public health challenge of low HPV vaccination rates. The focus is on developing theory-based messages that can potentially increase vaccination rates in this demographic.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-45 who have not received the HPV vaccine and are open to vaccination.

Not a fit: Patients who are under 18, over 45, or have already received the HPV vaccine will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly increase HPV vaccination rates, thereby reducing the incidence of HPV-related cancers.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been successful interventions to increase vaccine uptake in children, this approach focusing on adults is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
