What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to test a culturally tailored intervention designed to enhance engagement and retention in care for Haitian immigrants living with HIV. Participants will undergo a pilot health intervention involving four individual meetings over six months, along with completing research questionnaires at various stages. The study will also include a photovoice component, where selected participants will illustrate their experiences through photography. The primary focus is to assess the impact of this intervention on viral suppression and overall care engagement.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Haitian immigrants who are seropositive for HIV and either recently diagnosed or non-virally suppressed.

Not a fit: Patients who are already virally suppressed will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve health outcomes and viral suppression rates among Haitian immigrants living with HIV.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is tailored specifically for Haitian immigrants, similar culturally adapted interventions have shown promise in improving health outcomes in other populations.
