What this trial studies
This project investigates the effectiveness of a teacher-led hygiene intervention in primary schools in Lagos, Nigeria, aimed at enhancing handwashing practices among children. The study involves a cluster-randomized design with 50 low-cost private primary schools, where 25 schools will receive the intervention and 25 will serve as controls. The intervention, called WASHED-UP, includes a two-week health awareness campaign featuring interactive stories, games, and practical demonstrations to promote hygiene. Data will be collected through digital surveys and implementation checklists to assess the impact of the intervention on hygiene practices and related health outcomes.

Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include children in schools that have already received similar WASH interventions or those whose school authorities refuse to participate.
Why it matters
