What this trial studies
This project aims to assess and enhance financial abilities in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's disease, and stroke through a telerehabilitation program. It will evaluate the cognitive and neuroanatomical factors associated with financial management skills and develop a rehabilitation tool to improve these abilities remotely. The study will utilize a newly developed assessment battery to measure financial abilities and their correlation with cognitive functions. The ultimate goal is to understand how neurological conditions affect financial decision-making and to provide effective rehabilitation strategies.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's disease, or stroke who have preserved use of at least one hand and normal or corrected vision.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of psychiatric or concurrent neurological diseases, or those unable to provide informed consent, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could help patients regain or improve their financial management skills, enhancing their independence and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While few studies have explored the neural correlates of financial abilities in neurological conditions, this approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
