What this trial studies
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a targeted intervention that combines continuous glucose monitoring with pharmacist-led medication management for uninsured adults with type 2 diabetes. The focus is on Black and Hispanic populations who have poor glycemic control while on basal insulin. By assessing the health outcomes of participants, the study seeks to provide evidence for broader implementation of this intervention within the healthcare system.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are uninsured Hispanic or non-Hispanic Black adults diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and poor glycemic control.
Not a fit: Patients with gestational diabetes, type 1 diabetes, or those receiving care from an endocrinologist may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve diabetes management and health outcomes for uninsured minority patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using continuous glucose monitors and pharmacist-led interventions, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
