What this trial studies
The 'Together, We Inspire Smart Eating' (WISE) intervention aims to enhance children's nutrition in early care and education (ECE) settings by implementing four evidence-based practices: hands-on exposure to fruits and vegetables, role modeling by educators, positive feeding practices, and the use of a mascot. This study seeks to optimize the delivery of these practices through an adaptive implementation approach that tailors support to the unique challenges faced by ECE providers. By addressing the barriers to effective implementation, the study aims to improve the adoption and fidelity of these dietary practices, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for children. The research will evaluate both the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of this tailored approach.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are teachers at early care and education sites in specific regions of Arkansas and Louisiana who serve children aged 3 to 5 and are not currently using the WISE program.
Not a fit: Patients who are currently using the WISE program in their classrooms will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve children's dietary habits and reduce obesity rates, leading to better long-term health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive effects of dietary programs in early care and education settings, indicating that this approach has potential for success.
