What this trial studies
This study aims to address anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation among adolescents by implementing a Cooperative Learning (CL) approach, which enhances peer relations and reduces risks associated with peer interactions. The program utilizes technology to automate the design and delivery of CL lessons, making it scalable and accessible for schools. By focusing on key peer-based risk and protective factors, the study seeks to promote academic engagement and reduce racial disparities in mental health outcomes. The intervention targets students in participating schools, ensuring equitable access to mental health resources.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents enrolled in participating schools, including students from diverse backgrounds.
Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include those outside the target grades or those not enrolled in the participating schools.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve mental health outcomes for adolescents by providing accessible and effective support in school settings.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using peer-based interventions for mental health, but this specific technology-supported approach is relatively novel.
