What this trial studies
This project aims to enhance treatment adherence for minority children with ADHD by developing and testing the I2-ART intervention. The intervention is based on the Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) and will be tailored specifically for African American and Latinx families. The study will involve focus groups with caregivers, clinicians, and family navigators to identify barriers and facilitators to treatment adherence. The findings will inform the implementation of the intervention in subsequent phases.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Latinx and African American caregivers of children aged 7-11 years who are treatment-naïve for ADHD.
Not a fit: Patients who do not speak English or Spanish may not benefit from this study due to language barriers.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve treatment adherence and outcomes for minority children with ADHD.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on ADHD treatment adherence, this specific approach using family navigation for minority populations is relatively novel.
