What this trial studies

This observational study aims to enhance the recruitment of lung cancer patients into clinical trials by developing a research recruitment tool for lung cancer nurses. It will explore the barriers to clinical trial participation through systematic reviews and focus groups involving patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. The study will consist of four phases, including a systematic review, qualitative focus groups, tool development, and a pilot study to assess the tool's effectiveness. The ultimate goal is to improve communication between nurses and patients regarding clinical trial opportunities.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are lung cancer patients who are seeking information about clinical trial participation.

Not a fit: Patients who are not actively involved in lung cancer treatment or those who are not interested in clinical trials may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly increase lung cancer patients' access to clinical trials, leading to better treatment options and improved quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in improving clinical trial recruitment through enhanced communication strategies, making this approach promising.
