What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Sprint Interval Training on the performance of field hockey players. It involves a randomized controlled trial with 28 participants divided into two groups: one receiving sprint interval training and the other continuing with regular training. The study measures improvements in speed, change of direction, and overall running performance through specific tests before and after a 4-week training period. Data will be analyzed using SPSS software to determine the effectiveness of the training regimen.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are physically active males and females aged 18-30 with at least 2 years of playing experience and a moderate level of training.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic conditions or musculoskeletal issues that hinder participation in the training protocols will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this training approach could significantly enhance the athletic performance of field hockey players.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that sprint interval training can significantly improve athletic performance, indicating a promising approach in this context.
