What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates how different psychological profiles, specifically Type A and Type B, affect the healing process of foot wounds in patients with Type 2 diabetes. Participants will complete self-questionnaires based on Bortner's method to determine their psychological profile. The study aims to identify correlations between these profiles and wound healing outcomes, potentially informing future treatment approaches. It focuses on patients referred for management of new diabetic foot wounds.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with Type 2 diabetes who have a new diabetic foot wound.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to complete self-questionnaires or those under legal protection measures may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment strategies for diabetic foot wounds by considering psychological factors.
How similar studies have performed: While there is some evidence linking psychological profiles to health outcomes in diabetes, this specific approach appears to be novel and untested.
