What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effects of locally applied hyaluronic acid on the healing process of free gingival grafts and the donor site in patients with insufficient keratinized tissue. A total of 40 participants will be randomly assigned to either a test group receiving hyaluronic acid or a control group without it. Clinical measurements will be taken at various postoperative intervals to assess healing outcomes. The study aims to determine if hyaluronic acid can enhance wound healing in this surgical context.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy non-smokers with at least one tooth exhibiting keratinized tissue width of less than 2 mm.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic diseases, heavy smokers, or those undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve healing outcomes for patients undergoing gum graft surgery.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with the use of hyaluronic acid in wound healing, suggesting potential success for this approach.
