What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess how the burden of care for parents of children with cerebral palsy changes following hip and knee surgeries. It will evaluate the caregivers' experiences before and after the surgeries using periodic assessments. The study seeks to identify factors that may positively influence the reduction of caregiver burden, focusing on the functional mobility improvements of the children post-surgery. By understanding these dynamics, the study hopes to provide insights into the overall well-being of both the child and the caregiver.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents aged 20-60 who have a child diagnosed with cerebral palsy and are primary caregivers.

Not a fit: Patients who may not benefit from this study include those with additional caregiving responsibilities for other disabled individuals or families unwilling to participate.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved support strategies for caregivers, enhancing their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown that surgical interventions can lead to improved mobility and reduced caregiver burden, suggesting a potential for success in this approach.
