What this trial studies
This observational cohort study aims to evaluate how COVID-19 infection affects pregnancy outcomes and the health of offspring. Participants will complete a questionnaire regarding their COVID-19 infection history and reproductive background, followed by physical examinations, laboratory tests, and ultrasound scans. The study will also involve long-term follow-up to monitor pregnancy outcomes and the health of the children born. The findings could provide valuable insights into the implications of COVID-19 during pregnancy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 18-50 who have experienced COVID-19 and can provide complete infection history.
Not a fit: Patients with abnormal karyotypes or those who have received oocyte donations may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of COVID-19's effects on pregnancy and improve care for affected women and their children.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored the effects of viral infections on pregnancy, but this specific focus on COVID-19 is relatively novel.
