What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze changes in sexual function among young women following breast cancer surgery over a one-year period. Participants will provide demographic information and complete assessments using the Female Sexual Function Scale, Breast-Q, and Body Perception Scale before surgery and at 6 weeks, 6 months, and 1 year post-surgery. The study will include at least 52 participants to ensure sufficient power for statistical analysis, utilizing various tests to evaluate the data collected. No interventions will be performed as part of this study, as all participants will undergo breast cancer surgery regardless of their involvement.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young adult females scheduled for breast cancer surgery who have been sexually active in the past year.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone breast cancer surgery or have a history of other cancers may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the sexual health and quality of life of young women after breast cancer surgery.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies examining sexual function post-breast cancer surgery, this specific observational approach focusing on young women is relatively novel.
