What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of an interactive video designed to enhance nursing students' knowledge and skills in caring for surgical patients using anti-embolism stockings. Conducted as a randomized controlled trial, it involves 60 third-year nursing students from a public university in Turkey, divided into experimental and control groups. Data will be collected through various assessment forms to measure the learning outcomes associated with the interactive video compared to a non-interactive video. The goal is to determine if the interactive approach significantly improves educational outcomes in this specific area of nursing care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are third-year nursing students with a minimum academic average of 2.00 who have access to the necessary technology.
Not a fit: Students who have graduated from health vocational high schools or those who have failed the Surgical Diseases Nursing course may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance nursing education and improve patient care practices related to anti-embolism stockings.
How similar studies have performed: While similar educational interventions have shown promise in enhancing learning outcomes, this specific approach using interactive video is relatively novel.
