What this trial studies
This randomized controlled trial investigates how an educational video affects fecundity knowledge among young adults. The video covers various risk factors related to fertility, including age and smoking. Participants from the Danish National Birth Cohort and the Norwegian Mother and Child Cohort will be randomly assigned to either an intervention or control group. The primary outcome is the level of fecundity knowledge, while secondary outcomes include intentions regarding pregnancy timing and fertility-protective behaviors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are young adults aged 18 and older who are offspring of mothers from the DNBC and MoBa cohorts.
Not a fit: Patients who are underage or do not understand Norwegian or Danish will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance young adults' understanding of fertility, leading to better reproductive health decisions.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown that educational interventions can effectively improve knowledge and awareness regarding reproductive health, suggesting potential success for this approach.
