What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of an educational program designed to enhance nursing students' knowledge and awareness of child abuse and neglect. By focusing on undergraduate nursing students, the program aims to equip them with the necessary skills to identify and report cases of child maltreatment. The intervention involves a structured educational curriculum that addresses the signs and symptoms of child abuse, emphasizing the critical role nurses play in early detection and intervention. Participants will be assessed on their knowledge before and after the program to measure its impact.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are undergraduate nursing students aged 18-30 who are literate in Turkish and have internet access.
Not a fit: Patients who are outside the specified age range or who are not literate in Turkish may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the ability of nursing students to recognize and respond to child abuse and neglect, ultimately leading to better outcomes for affected children.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically targeting nursing students' education on child abuse, similar educational interventions in healthcare settings have shown positive outcomes in improving knowledge and awareness.
