What this trial studies

This is a single-center, retrospective review of existing orbital imaging performed at CHU Brest, focused on the six extraocular muscles, the optic nerve, and orbital fat. Researchers will extract anatomical and biometric measurements from usable imaging studies and record methods used to visualize the oculomotor muscles. The dataset will include adults over 18 who have not opposed use of their images, and no new tests or interventions are performed. Results are intended to inform clinical, medical, and surgical practice by improving anatomic understanding and measurement methods.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults (age 18+) whose prior orbital imaging is available in the CHU Brest database and who did not oppose use of their data.

Not a fit: Patients without usable orbital imaging, those under 18, or those seeking direct therapeutic benefit are unlikely to receive personal benefit from this retrospective imaging analysis.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the findings could improve diagnosis and surgical planning for conditions affecting eye movement and the orbit.

How similar studies have performed: Similar imaging-based anatomical analyses of the orbit and extraocular muscles have been performed previously and have provided useful anatomic references for clinicians and surgeons.
