What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to capture imaging data of eye floaters, also known as vitreous opacities, in a Canadian population. Participants will undergo imaging with an investigational ophthalmic device designed to provide detailed images of their floaters. The collected data will contribute to a database that researchers can use to better understand the characteristics and implications of these visual disturbances. The study focuses on individuals who experience symptomatic floaters and have clear ocular media for optimal imaging.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 years or older who experience symptomatic vitreous opacities and have clear ocular media.
Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as vitreous hemorrhage, advanced cataracts, or significant refractive errors may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding and management of eye floaters, potentially leading to improved treatment options for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach to imaging floaters is relatively novel, similar studies focusing on ocular imaging have shown promise in enhancing understanding of various eye conditions.
