Identifying genetic factors in child development and delays
Child Development and Genetic Biomarkers(II): Gene Verification and Data Integration

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify genes associated with child development and developmental delays in Taiwan. It will compare genetic biomarkers of development between Taiwanese children and those from other countries. The study employs precision medicine for genetic screening and tracks the biological, psychological, and social adjustments of children, particularly those with early-onset developmental delays. A total of 475 participants aged 0 to 40 will be enrolled over two phases, with a focus on both typical development and developmental disabilities.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include children aged 0-40 with typical development or developmental disabilities.
Not a fit: Patients with central nervous diseases, neuromuscular diseases, congenital diseases, or sensory disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better understanding and interventions for children with developmental disabilities.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in identifying genetic factors related to developmental disabilities, making this approach promising.
