What this trial studies

This study aims to identify patients with first episode psychosis who are at high risk of disengaging from coordinated specialty care (CSC). In the first phase, researchers will confirm a predictive model for disengagement factors. In the second phase, they will compare the outcomes of high-risk individuals receiving a CSC Step-down intervention, which utilizes web-based telemedicine and a smartphone app, against those receiving standard CSC care. The goal is to prevent or delay disengagement from treatment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals enrolled in a coordinated specialty care program for first episode psychosis.

Not a fit: Patients who are not enrolled in a CSC program may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance treatment retention for patients with first episode psychosis, leading to better health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using telemedicine and digital interventions to improve patient engagement in mental health care.
