What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a storytelling video-based intervention called K-Talk, which utilizes AI chatbot technology to encourage HPV vaccination among Korean Americans aged 18 to 45. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups, receiving different combinations of the K-Talk intervention and written educational materials about HPV. The study will recruit a total of 160 participants, focusing on enhancing health communication and fostering connection within the target population. The trial follows a Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) design to optimize the intervention's components.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Korean Americans aged 18 to 45 who have not been vaccinated against HPV and can use a mobile device.
Not a fit: Patients who have already been vaccinated against HPV or do not identify as Korean ethnic individuals will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly increase HPV vaccination rates among Korean Americans, leading to better health outcomes in this population.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of AI and storytelling in health interventions is gaining traction, this specific approach targeting Korean Americans for HPV vaccination is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
