What this trial studies

This is an observational questionnaire-based project collecting information from psychiatrists, midwives, gynecologists, general practitioners, psychologists, and maternal-child health professionals practicing in Alsace about their approaches to eating disorders in the perinatal period. Participants will report on screening practices, management strategies, referral patterns, and perceived training needs. The study excludes clinicians who do not treat perinatal patients or who practice outside Alsace. No treatments are administered; responses will be analyzed to identify gaps and inform local training and care pathways.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal participants are psychiatrists, midwives, gynecologists, general practitioners, psychologists, and maternal-child health professionals who provide perinatal care and practice in Alsace, France.

Not a fit: People who are not pregnant or postpartum, or whose clinicians do not practice in Alsace, are unlikely to receive direct benefit from this local survey's findings.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the results could lead to improved training and clearer care pathways so pregnant and postpartum people with eating disorders are identified and supported earlier.

How similar studies have performed: Previous clinician surveys have shown gaps in eating-disorder care, but focused research specifically on the perinatal period remains limited.
