How adults with type 1 diabetes experience the physical activity mode of their hybrid closed-loop insulin system.

Satisfaction of Specific Modes Related to Physical Activity in People Living With Type 1 Diabetes and Using an Hybrid Closed-loop System

Not applicable Interventional University Hospital, Grenoble · NCT07567170

This project asks adults with type 1 diabetes who use a hybrid closed-loop insulin system to see if the system's physical activity mode meets their needs and how satisfied they are with it.

What this trial studies

This is a single-center, non-interventional descriptive study at CHU Grenoble Alpes using a self-administered questionnaire to capture patient-reported satisfaction with the physical activity mode of hybrid closed-loop insulin systems. Eligible participants are adults (≥18 years) with type 1 diabetes who have used a closed-loop system for at least four months and are followed at the center. The primary outcome is a satisfaction score derived from the questionnaire, with additional descriptive analyses of experience and usage patterns. The study excludes people who object to participation and those legally protected from research involvement.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (≥18 years) with type 1 diabetes who have used a hybrid closed-loop insulin system for at least four months and are followed by a diabetologist at CHU Grenoble Alpes.

Not a fit: People under 18, those who do not use a closed-loop system, patients not followed at the Grenoble center, or individuals who legally decline participation are unlikely to benefit from or take part in this work.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the results could highlight strengths and weaknesses of physical activity modes and help guide device improvements and clinician support for patients exercising with closed-loop systems.

How similar studies have performed: Prior studies show closed-loop systems can improve glucose control, but research specifically measuring patient satisfaction with exercise or physical activity modes is limited, so this effort is relatively novel and descriptive.
