What this trial studies
This study explores the use of horse therapy, combining equitherapy and hippotherapy, for children, adolescents, and young adults who are in remission from medulloblastoma. The aim is to address the physical and psychological after-effects of the disease and its treatment through rehabilitative care involving interaction with horses. Participants will engage in therapeutic activities that leverage the unique movement of horses to promote recovery and well-being. The study targets patients who have completed their treatment and are living within a reasonable distance from the therapy center.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children, adolescents, and young adults who are in complete remission from medulloblastoma and have completed their treatment at least five years prior.
Not a fit: Patients with significant physical limitations or those under legal protection may not benefit from this therapy.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could significantly improve the quality of life and rehabilitation outcomes for young cancer survivors.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of equitherapy and hippotherapy in this context may be novel, similar approaches using animal-assisted therapies have shown positive outcomes in rehabilitation settings.
