What this trial studies
The project uses a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized comparison group and at least three evaluation points. Families referred from social services complete standardized questionnaires on parenting competences, family functioning, and child/adolescent adjustment at baseline and every six months for up to two years. Professionals delivering the intervention enter responses into a secure app that prevents missing or invalid answers, and data will be analyzed using Mplus and SPSS. Information is provided by the intervening practitioners, main caregivers, and adolescents as appropriate.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are families identified as psychosocially at-risk with at least one child under 18 who live in the catchment area of the participating social services center and can take part in home visits.
Not a fit: Families currently experiencing an acute family crisis, significant mental health problems that prevent participation, or classified with a high level of psychosocial risk are unlikely to benefit from this home-based program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could strengthen parenting competences, improve family dynamics, and enhance children’s quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Previous research on home-based positive parenting programs has shown benefits for parenting skills and child outcomes, although effectiveness can vary by implementation and participant risk level.
