What this trial studies
This pilot clinical trial evaluates the feasibility and acceptability of a home-based adapted physical activity program for individuals with anorexia nervosa. The study aims to assess patient satisfaction, safety, and the evolution of symptoms associated with the condition. Participants will engage in a structured physical activity regimen tailored to their needs, monitored through tele-rehabilitation methods. The trial focuses on female patients aged 18 to 60 with a BMI under 18.5 kg/m2.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are females aged 18 to 60 with anorexia nervosa and a BMI under 18.5 kg/m2.
Not a fit: Patients requiring inpatient care or those with a BMI under 12 kg/m2 may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could provide a novel approach to improving physical and psychological outcomes for patients with anorexia nervosa.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on home-based adapted physical activity specifically for anorexia nervosa, similar telerehabilitation approaches have shown promise in other conditions.
