What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a home-based parental nutrition intervention designed to enhance diet quality in preschool-aged children from low-income Latinx families. Participants will receive support from a community health worker through monthly home visits and phone calls, along with tailored written materials and text messages over six months. The study will compare outcomes between families receiving the enhanced intervention and a control group to assess changes in children's diet quality, parental feeding practices, and the availability of healthy foods at home.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are primary caregivers of children aged 2-5 years who self-identify as Latinx/Hispanic and meet specific dietary and participation criteria.
Not a fit: Patients whose children have been diagnosed with feeding disorders or dietary restrictions that affect their eating may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve the dietary habits and health outcomes of preschool-aged children in low-income Latinx families.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar home-based interventions aimed at improving dietary habits in diverse populations, indicating potential for success in this approach.
