What this trial studies

This clinical trial evaluates a home-based mindfulness physical activity program combined with remote monitoring and structured telephone health coaching aimed at reducing fatigue and enhancing quality of life in older patients with multiple myeloma. Participants will engage in daily physical activities such as flexibility exercises and slow walking, monitored remotely, while receiving weekly health coaching calls over a 12-week period. The effectiveness of this intervention will be assessed through patient-reported fatigue and quality of life questionnaires, as well as physical activity levels measured by a wrist monitor.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are older adults aged 65 and above who have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and are currently undergoing maintenance treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the inclusion criteria, such as those with less than moderate fatigue or without a Wi-Fi connection, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life and reduce fatigue in older patients suffering from multiple myeloma.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have indicated that mindfulness and physical activity can positively impact fatigue and quality of life in older cancer patients, suggesting potential success for this approach.
