What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a home-based surface electrical stimulation (SES) program for individuals suffering from cervical myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), particularly among computer office workers. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: SES with telemedical support, SES alone, or no intervention, with treatments administered over three weeks. The study will assess pain levels and other outcomes before, immediately after, and four weeks post-intervention. This approach seeks to provide a convenient and accessible treatment option for busy office employees.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are office workers who use computers for more than four hours a day and have been experiencing neck pain for over two months.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of neck surgery, systemic diseases, or other significant medical conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could offer a practical and effective pain management solution for office workers suffering from cervical myofascial pain syndrome.

How similar studies have performed: Similar studies have shown promise in using electrical stimulation for pain management, suggesting potential success for this approach.
