What this trial studies
This observational cohort study focuses on adult survivors of sudden cardiac arrest who have received cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It aims to identify factors influencing both short-term and long-term survival, while also assessing the health-related quality of life and psychological well-being of patients and their families. Participants will be evaluated using various scales upon hospital discharge and at multiple follow-up points over the course of a year. Data analysis will involve statistical methods to determine the impact of different factors on survival outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 20 and older who have experienced non-traumatic cardiac arrest and have sustained return of spontaneous circulation for more than five minutes.
Not a fit: Patients under 20 years of age, pregnant individuals, or those with terminal cancer who are unwilling to receive treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the care and support provided to post-cardiac arrest survivors and their families, improving their overall quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in post-cardiac arrest care, this study's holistic approach focusing on both physical and psychological well-being is relatively novel.
