What this trial studies

This study investigates the combined effects of high load strength training and tissue-specific plantar fascia stretching on male athletes diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving strength training and routine physiotherapy, and the other receiving both strength training and stretching exercises. The study will measure pain, functional disability, and range of motion before and after the intervention using various assessment tools. The trial will take place over 12 weeks at sports clubs in MOTH Mirpur AJK.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are male athletes aged 20-35 with a diagnosis of plantar fasciitis and a history of heel pain.

Not a fit: Patients with systemic diseases, infections, prior surgeries, or psychiatric illnesses may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce pain and improve function in athletes suffering from plantar fasciitis.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of interventions is novel, similar studies have shown positive outcomes with high load strength training for musculoskeletal conditions.
