High-intensity interval training to improve fitness in brain tumor patients
FeelFit: High-intensity Interval Training to Improve Self-reported Physical Fitness in Brain Tumor Patients: a Randomized Controlled Trial

What this trial studies
The FeelFit study evaluates the effectiveness of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in enhancing self-reported physical fitness among adult patients with primary brain tumors who have stable disease. Participants will be compared to a waiting-list control group to assess the impact of this exercise intervention. The study is part of the GRIP project, which focuses on improving the quality of life for brain tumor survivors. Secondary and exploratory outcomes will also be measured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the intervention's effects.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with a diagnosed primary brain tumor who report reduced physical fitness and have stable disease.
Not a fit: Patients with a Karnofsky Performance Score below 70 or contraindications to exercise may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly enhance the physical fitness and overall quality of life for brain tumor patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on HIIT specifically for brain tumor patients, similar exercise interventions have shown positive outcomes in improving fitness and quality of life in cancer survivors.
