What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of high intensity focused electromagnetic technology on metabolism in obese men. Sixty participants will be divided into two groups, with one group receiving dietary caloric restriction and daily walking, while the other group will additionally undergo high intensity electromagnetic sessions on their abdomen three times a week for three months. The study aims to observe changes in adipose tissue and the release of free fatty acids following treatment. The goal is to assess the effectiveness of this combined approach in promoting weight loss and improving metabolic profiles.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men with central obesity and a BMI between 30 and 34.9 kg/m2.

Not a fit: Patients with metabolic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, musculoskeletal, neurological, autoimmune, or psychological illnesses may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could provide an innovative method for weight loss and metabolic improvement in obese men.

How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using high intensity electromagnetic technology is relatively novel, similar studies have shown promising results in fat reduction and metabolic improvement.
