What this trial studies
This project investigates the effects of a Narrative and Skills-building Intervention on young stroke survivors' ability to reintegrate into their communities and improve psychosocial outcomes. A randomized controlled trial will be conducted where participants will share their survival experiences and work on rebuilding essential life skills. The study will measure various outcomes, including community reintegration, depressive symptoms, health-related quality of life, self-efficacy, and satisfaction with self-management behaviors. This innovative approach aims to assess both short and long-term effects of the intervention on young stroke survivors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are young adults aged 18-64 who have experienced a first-ever or recurrent stroke and are living at home post-discharge.
Not a fit: Patients with transient ischemic attacks, severe mental health conditions, or those who have previously participated in self-management programs may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the community reintegration and overall quality of life for young stroke survivors.
How similar studies have performed: This approach is novel and has not been extensively tested in similar studies, making it a unique intervention in the field.
