What this trial studies
This program evaluates the effectiveness of a health insurance navigation intervention for childhood cancer survivors, comparing synchronous (live) and asynchronous (pre-recorded) delivery methods. The aim is to improve health insurance literacy, reduce financial distress, and enhance access to necessary healthcare services. Participants will be randomized into one of three groups: synchronous navigation, asynchronous navigation, or enhanced usual care. The study focuses on addressing the unique challenges faced by childhood cancer survivors regarding their health insurance and healthcare needs.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are childhood cancer survivors, currently enrolled in the Long-Term Follow-Up cohort, and have US-based health insurance.
Not a fit: Patients who are not part of the Long-Term Follow-Up cohort or do not have access to US-based health insurance may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve health insurance literacy and access to care for childhood cancer survivors, reducing financial burdens and unmet healthcare needs.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in improving health insurance literacy and access to care through navigation programs, indicating potential success for this approach.
