What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of an inpatient group Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program for individuals diagnosed with psychosis spectrum disorders. The program is designed to help patients manage their symptoms and improve their overall functioning during hospitalization, with a focus on mindfulness and self-acceptance. The study will assess the impact of this treatment on symptom severity and patient satisfaction, as well as monitor any potential side effects through qualitative interviews. The ultimate goal is to reduce rehospitalization rates and promote positive attitudes towards treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with various psychosis spectrum disorders, including schizophrenia and related conditions.
Not a fit: Patients who decline to participate or have insufficient language or intellectual abilities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the management of psychosis spectrum disorders and enhance patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies using ACT have shown promise in improving outcomes for patients with mental health disorders.
