What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an Emotional Regulation Skills Training (ERST) program for adolescents experiencing mild emotional dysregulation. The intervention will be conducted in groups at high schools, targeting students aged 14-16 who have been referred for emotional support. Researchers will assess the impact of the program by comparing symptom levels and emotional regulation skills before and after the intervention, as well as at a three-month follow-up. Teacher assessments will also be included to provide an objective measure of changes in emotional regulation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are high school students aged 14-16 who exhibit mild emotional dysregulation and are currently enrolled in school.
Not a fit: Patients who are already receiving regular psychological treatment may not benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance emotional regulation skills in adolescents, leading to improved mental health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research in emotional regulation interventions, this specific group approach for adolescents is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
