What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of the Strength After Breast Cancer (SABC) program, a group exercise intervention designed for women who have completed treatment for breast cancer. Conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital, participants will undergo a physical therapy evaluation and engage in a four-session exercise program that includes both group and home-based activities. The study will assess the practicality of delivering this program in an outpatient setting and identify barriers and facilitators to its implementation. Participants will complete questionnaires and interviews to provide feedback on their experience and the program's effectiveness.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are women aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with Stage I-III breast cancer and have completed their primary cancer treatment.

Not a fit: Patients with medical conditions that prevent safe exercise or those who do not speak English may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve physical function and quality of life for women recovering from breast cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that similar exercise interventions can improve physical function in breast cancer survivors, indicating a promising approach.
