What this trial studies

The program delivers a 10-session group psychoeducation course for users with severe psychiatric disorders and their carers, focusing on daily living skills and cognitive strategies. Autonomy at home will be measured before and after participation to document any changes. Enrollment is limited to people managed by the RPS 93 platform who can give consent and are not in an acute clinical state. The observational work is carried out at EPS Ville-Evrard in Neuilly-sur-Marne, France.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults with mood or psychotic disorders under the care of the RPS 93 platform who volunteer for the home autonomy project, can provide consent, and are not currently in an acute clinical state.

Not a fit: People in an acute clinical state, those not followed by RPS 93, or individuals unable to participate in group sessions may be unlikely to benefit.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, participants may gain practical skills and carer support that improve day-to-day functioning and increase independence at home.

How similar studies have performed: Previous psychoeducation and group-support programs for severe mental illness have shown benefits for symptom management and relapse prevention, but evidence specifically improving independent living is limited and mixed.
