GRAPE model for gastric cancer screening

Clinical Evaluation of GRAPE Model for Gastric Cancer Screening

Zhejiang Cancer Hospital · NCT07067983

What this trial studies

This is a prospective observational study enrolling adults aged 18–80 who undergo thoracoabdominal CT at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital. The GRAPE algorithm will be applied to systematic CT screening results to identify findings suggestive of gastric cancer. Detection rates will be recorded across different disease stages and compared with subsequent clinical diagnoses or follow-up. The study excludes people with a prior confirmed gastric cancer diagnosis and those unable to provide informed consent.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults aged 18–80 who are undergoing thoracoabdominal CT at the study site and can give written informed consent are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: People already diagnosed with gastric cancer, those unable to communicate or provide informed consent, and those outside the 18–80 age range are unlikely to benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the GRAPE model could increase early detection of gastric cancer from routine CT scans and help direct timely diagnostic follow-up.

How similar studies have performed: AI and computer models applied to medical imaging have shown promise in other cancers, but using the GRAPE model specifically for gastric cancer screening is relatively novel and not yet widely validated.
