What this trial studies

This is a randomized controlled intervention conducted over eight weeks at two schools in Sialkot (The Spirit School and the Concept School System). Fourteen school-aged participants with forward neck posture and neck pain will be randomly assigned to an intervention group or a control group. The intervention group will receive thrice-weekly, 30-minute sessions of structured cervical stretching, postural strengthening exercises, and game-based activities that progress every two weeks, while the control group continues routine activities. Outcomes will include posture angle measurements (Kinovea/goniometer) and neck pain measures, with participants screened to exclude scoliosis, recent fractures, or recent surgery.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: School-going children up to 15 years old of either gender who have forward neck posture (around 48° by Kinovea) and report neck pain, and who do not have scoliosis or recent injury/surgery.

Not a fit: Children whose neck pain is caused by structural conditions like scoliosis, recent fractures, or who have had recent surgery are unlikely to benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this could reduce neck pain and improve posture in young children and offer a simple, school-based program to prevent future problems.

How similar studies have performed: Exercise and postural education programs have shown benefits for neck pain and posture in teenagers and adults, but evidence specifically in younger schoolchildren is limited.
